MOSQUE
PROJECT
MFI ‘s primary goals has been to create an environment of love and
affection between various ethnic groups by providing our community
members Islamic Values through education, and social events.
We would
like to see members of our community to play a leading role in the
welfare activities in our area by actively participating in elections
and working with various ethnic groups of our area irrespective of
differences in cast creed or color.
We
believe that this could best be achieved by continuous spiritual
enhancement of the young, the old and the children through regular
prayers, education, lectures, and library facilities.
Establishment of a Mosque is considered as the first step to achieve
these high lofted objectives. Historically Masjid e Nabvi was the
bastion of Islamic thoughts and beliefs. To enumerate just a few
functions, it was a place of worship, the center of government, a
court, an educational institute a foreign affairs office and a finance
department. We have to have a place we could get together; meet each
other think and explore areas of cooperation in various economic and
social activities.
We have
to have a place where our younger generation could meet elders of the
community and learn from their experiences in life.
We have
to have a place where we could offer our congregation prayers hold
classes for Tafseer e Quran, hear people of wisdom and knowledge who
could tell us about the teachings of Rasool e Kareem and Ahl ul Bait.
Mosque is
our need and identity. Right from the very beginning MFI has worked to
raise a Mosque. Having gone through a very long and difficult journey,
facing a lot of turmoil, periods of frustration and decades of hard
work the dream has came through when the foundation of the MASJID e
ALI was laid on September 09, 2006 on a plot of land measuring 3.3
acres on 47 Cedar Grove Lane, Franklin Township. Somerset NJ 08873.
The cost
of completing the Site Plan was awarded to a reputable Contractor at a
cost of $1.23 million. This job has been completed to the extent of
> 85%. Construction of the basement will start early 2008.
The
detailed drawings of the mosque, school and other ancillary buildings
have been completed based on the concept drawings provided by the
well-known architect of Pakistan named Br. Saleem Thariani.

payment of Khums as we have the IJAZA for fund collection from
Ayatullah Syed Ali Hussain Sistani, Ayatullah Hafiz Basheer Ansari and
Ayatullah Nasir Makarim Sheerazi
